Ranier in his new wheelchairRanier was born in the Dominican Republic with a rare bone disability. At five years old, he is bright, fun, feisty and filled with curiosity. He’s eager to learn and bursting with possibility. Ranier’s mom, Diana, has carried him to school for the past three years. She’s been desperately waiting and praying for a wheelchair, “but here in the Dominican Republic, they are only for the rich,” she explains. Recently, Ranier’s teachers told Diana they would no longer be able to carry Ranier in the classroom. He is growing heavier as he grows older. “And he cannot crawl on his knees on the dirt or rough pavement without hurting himself,” Diana explains. Ranier’s Heavenly Father – rich in mercy and abundant in love – gave Ranier the gift of a wheelchair that only a Father could provide. In a country where supply is scarce, God’s supply through you has opened the door to future bright with hope for Ranier. A Gospel bracelet was brought out and shared with Diana and her precious son. Joy broke over their faces at the goodness of their Heavenly Father, who breaks through poverty and impossible barriers to provide the richness of His love through you. Crawling no longer, Ranier now sits with joy and dignity – and the impish grin that captured all our hearts! His life is full and filled with promise. His wheels are rolling him to school every day and he is developing to become the person God fully intended him to be.
