A Lesson from Joni’s Father

Today, Joni Eareckson Tada is a famous mouth artist with works of art ranging from sketches to oil paintings, pastels and more. Her love for art began as a child, when as a little girl she would sit at the feet of her father, John Eareckson, watching him work at his easel. He would lift Joni up on his knee, take his big hand around hers, and together they would grab a brush and sweep and swirl colors across a canvas. But Joni’s father also taught her to trust in God’s hand at work in her life, and it’s why Joni wishes to share her father’s artwork and invaluable life lessons in this short video. Here, Joni takes you through how she came to draw a pastel pencil rendering of an image of her dad, using his hands to creatively transform a dead piece of bark into a handsome piece of wood. Because in many ways, that is what our Heavenly Father does in our lives: He crafts us into His masterpiece. Click here to watch the video and then, share it with your friends.
