A Mother’s Prayer for Her Son

“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.”

Philippians 1:3-5

Five-year-old Angel was born with hydrocephalus and cannot walk or talk. Eusebia, his mother, is pregnant again and worries what their family’s future will hold.

Every morning, the first thing she does is pray and brings her requests to God. How will I feed my family?

Who will care for Angel when I’m no longer around? How can I ever afford a wheelchair for him? These are some of Eusebia’s thoughts and worries about Angel. Even though he is getting older, she still carries Angel everywhere on her back.

“I do this because I love him,” she tells us.

But everything changed at a recent Wheels for the World distribution in Guatemala. Angel received a brand-new Joni and Friends pediatric wheelchair that fit him perfectly. It is a gift that will bring him into his community, and the wheelchair displays the love God has for Angel and his family. A Bible and a Joni book were also given to this family in their language.

Your generosity strengthened a mother’s faith! Eusebia didn’t have the money to buy this much-needed wheelchair for her son, but because of your prayers and faithfulness, Angel now has freedom and a new life in Christ. Make a donation and change a life today!
