Seasons’ Change is Established by the Lord

Cause 4 Life Intern in UgandaAmerican culture really defines this time of year. Christmas parties and white elephant gift exchanges fill our calendars. Our kitchens explode with the next homemade Pinterest find. Living rooms dance with the sound of friends and family’s laughter as they sip their eggnog. Our festivities usually bring to mind the things we’ve accomplished, the people we’ve lost. And then, the inevitable question, what will next year bring?

Next year might be a building year, adding experiences on to a working goal. Next year might be the start of a whole new chapter, starting fresh from the ground up. Or maybe next year is a mystery. No matter what it might look like we can always be confident in the promises of scripture.

Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

The Lord’s ground is firm and unyielding, but our fleshly instinct for control and independence makes us question it. But once the step is made, the Lord is there to affirm or redirect when necessary.

Many interns involved in the 2014 summer programs testified of this very thing. Making the decision to spend their whole summer away from home to receive education and training in ministry and missions to people affected by disability didn’t come easily. There was some uncertainty and trepidation. There’s a lot of time and money invested in such a step. But every single intern, 55 in total, wondered at the work God performed and the blessings they received. Their steps became more steadfast, their faith more secure in the Lord’s direction. At the end of the summer our internship program saw the fruit of God’s work in sending off 55 interns with the training and resources needed to impact the world of disability for the Lord.

But we’re not stopping there. Visit the Internships page for our 2015 internship opportunities today. Maybe the Lord has already established your steps next summer to make an impact in the lives of people affected by disability.
